ARRGH ME MATEY!!!
Rarely does a movie that looks very good turn out to be so. Most of the time people go to the movies with such a high expectation from the preview and then are disappointed by the final product. This is not the case with Pirates of the Carribean.
Johnny Depp was truly outstanding as schitzy Jack Sparrow. The improvisation that was utilized in this movie add so much to his character and everyone in the audience enjoyment of the film. All the other leads were great also. Orlando Bloom followed up Lord of the Rings with a movie that is sure to be a success, another rare feat in Hollywood these days. Beautiful and often wet :-), Keira Knightley as Elizabeth, was perfect casting to go alongside the character of William Turner (Bloom).
Another great feature of the film were of course the special effects and cinematogrphy. Dark enough to please adults but playful enough to not scare kids. The special effects weren’t too overblown, therefore not distracting from the rest of the movie. The story had some holes but who cares when a movie is this fun.
Great movie…. a must see for all who are in need of a good experience at the movies.
GRADE: A
Charlies Angels: Full Throttle

Fun with a capitol F. I’m blonde, so I don’t profess to have many brain cells or a high I.Q., so for me, this movie was fun. Some people may have thought that the effects were a little corny, which was to be expected, but I really enjoyed this movie. Eliza and I laughed through the entire thing, so the humor was well done, and the action was non-stop. Kudos to McG on making another film for the guys. 4.5 outta 5. Gotta deduct .5 for the guy that walks through fire.
DVD: Spirited Away
What is there that hasn’t already been said? This movie won an oscar, for one. And secondly, it has won a 5 out of 5 from theubergeeks. Well, at least from me anyway. Chris hasn’t gotten a chance to see it yet, but I am pretty sure he will like it. One thing is for certain, for an anime flick, it has a good story line and the story moves well. I like Anime. But most Anime films move too slowly, over dramaticize everything, and try too hard to make special effects look like special effects. The “camera work”, even though there is no literal camera, in this movie is awesome. I think what really helped lend a helping hand to this film is that it has a cast of voice overs that are very experienced. Again - 5 outta 5.
