Elf

Elf
Colin the Elf, what’s your favorite color? Well, if Will Ferrell were a color, he’d be my favorite. Will Ferrell has completed his first starring role since he officially left SNL. Sure, there was the other movie, but he was only a co-star in that one.

Anyways, as most people expected, he held his own in Elf as a Human that was raised by Elves. Definately a kids movie, but adults will like it as well. I am not going to write a long-winded review about this movie, I am just going to say it’s decently funny, and worth a peak. Until next time, enjoy your syrup.

D McNabb = Da McMan

Ok ok, my title for this post was a little cheesey, deal with it. Regardless the Eagles continue to amaze me and yes they look to be in top form once again, holding their own with the top teams in the NFC and in my opinion the entire organization.

Donovan McNabb was brilliant yet again after starting so horribly his first 6 games. He finished with a 132.5 qb rating and he threw for 300+ yards for the second time in three weeks. Normally when the Eagles play the Giants it is a close, topsy-turvy game that is mainly all defense. Not the case this past Sunday. The Eagles dominated the first half and did not look back. They scored at will and had a huge defensive stop to end the first half, where the Giants had 4 plays from the 1 yard line to score and they delivered on none of them. I’m sure glad the Eagles got Pro-Bowler Brian Dawkins back from his injury, what a huge boost for the Eagles beat up defense. Once Pro-Bowler Bobby Taylor comes back the d-fence will have another huge addition to its talented roster. The Eagles young secondary has definitely stepped up with all the injuries and the Eagles sit pretty tied atop the division with the Cowboys. I will make a guarantee right now that the Eagles are going to win the division. If I’m wrong at the end of the season, so what.. I won’t regret saying it.

They have also moved up in the Power Rankings and are above all other teams with a 7-3 record. Hopefully now that the Chiefs are going to lose their remaining games (I wish at least) they should continue to move up after they beat the Saints and Carolina over the next two weeks.

In other huge sports news, Keyshawn Johnson was deactivated by the struggling Bucs. I guess his very public beef with coach John Gruden finally caught up to him. Hopefully he’ll take the hint and stop being such a cocky selfish baby soreloser.

NIGHT!!

DVD: Finding Nemo

Finding Nemo
Had a chance to watch the special features on the Finding Nemo DVD. What a gorgeous DVD this is. Jammed packed full of extras, this two-disc release is nothing short of awesome. Mostly geared to please a younger demographic, us older types will definately enjoy this DVD. The documentary: Making Nemo, is a really good, exclusive look behind the scenes look at how Pixar goes about creating their films. I really don’t like when DVDs only have the TV specials that air on E! or TBS or MTV. I would much rather get something exclusive, and it’s nice to see that Pixar puts the work into providing this to the people who purchase the DVD. There is a Behind the Scenes of Nemo especially made for kids, hosted and narrated by the kid that did the voice of Nemo, which I think alot of kids will find is just as fun to watch as the feature presentation. There also some “screen saver” type functions that turned my 53″ Sony into a living Aquarium. Very cool.

Finding Nemo DVD: 5 outta 5.
Pickles’ Review: 4.9 paws outta 5. Drawback: Can’t eat the fish.
Pookers’ Review: 5 outta 5. Comments: Put me right to sleep, then again everything does.

Eagles VS. Packers

A wild week in the NFL is going to come to an end tonight with a big bang. The Eagles are going to be playing against the Packers tonight at Lambaugh field, one of the toughest spots to play in the NFL ( or so I’ve heard ). The Eagles are looking to prove they are for real once again this week. I feel they have a great shot of beating the Packers, but they must abuse the Packers less than exceptional secondary in order to do so. Next in the list is to stop Ahman Green who continues to impress everybody. This Eagles run defense was ranked first in the NFL throughout the first 6 games but have looked weaker the last two weeks, especially last week against the Falcons who got 100+ yards on them in the first half. They also have to blitz Farve a bunch of the time and try to put pressure on him and his fractured thumb, especially since he looked so solid last week against the Vikings.

This is looking to be a great game and if the Eagles win this I believe they will be the team to beat in the NFC. I really don’t believe that the Cowboys are as good as they think they are and everybody is hyping them up to be. The next best I feel is the Rams.

Three Days Grace

I recently purchased the Three Days Grace album from the Apple Music Store, which I am very very satisfied with. I have bought three albums from there and I have had no complaints. I was going to purchase an album but it wasn’t complete which is something that I have beef with. I understand that they can still sell the individual songs from the album but it kind of got my hopes up when I saw the album and then realized I couldn’t even buy it.

Well on to what I thought of the Three Days Grace album. I saw the “I Hate Everything About You” video on MTV and thought it was a pretty cool song, so I decided to take a listen. The instruments of the songs all sound really cool. They are all kinda similar tho, and the songs do not change up too much, they pretty much stay a consistent beat throughout. I like songs that have a change of pace in the middle or at the end, such as many Sinch songs ( if you haven’t heard of Sinch or have and haven’t picked up their album and you like hard rock, you best pick that one up … definite 5 star CD ), Tool songs and Taproot songs. The lyrics are also a little below average, and at least two of the songs have two of the same verus with the same chorus. for about a total of 20 words in the whole song.

Overall I really enjoy the album. No songs do I really dislike and I am sure I will listen to it quite often. Not one of my favorite albums tho.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5

Sorry for the lack of posts as of late .. I will trying to be posting more often the last two quarters of the month. Later y’all.

DVD: The Hulk

The Hulk
I had a moment to take a look at the Hulk DVD. The very best feature that this DVD (2-disc set) has, is that you can skip right to the end and watch the Hulk flip-out and escape the military base and create havoc. Besides that, there’s the normal “It took us 8 months to create these 5 seconds of footage” type DVD stuff.
