Homefield Baby!!
WOW, WOW, WOW!!!
I’m in absolute and complete shock still. I NEVER NEVER thought this was going to happen in a MILLION years. I had completely accepted the fact that the Eagles would have to play away from home at least once if they wanted to get to the Super Bowl in Houston. St. Louis Rams fans on the Eagles Message Board have been making fun of the Eagles all week because the Eagles lost a close game in overtime to a decent San Francisco team. But NOW… ooooooohhhhh … how the tables have turned. The Rams lost handily to the horrible Detroit Lions. They lost 30-20 and they looked like a high school football team. Marc Bulger saw the turf more than he saw any of his recievers. He had a fluke .. oops I mean forearm injury which sent blast from the past, Kurt Warner, onto the field. He didn’t have much more success against the swarming and seemingly hungry Lions defense.
Now it means that the Eagles have a first-round bye (which they had regardless of the outcome of this game) but also home-field advantage throughout the entire playoffs.
This was all made possible because of the romping the Redskins took at the hands of the Eagles, where Donovan McNabb played great as usual and Todd Pinkston had another slump breakout game.
Hopefully this year is the year where the Eagles finally win it all… Don’t want to get my hopes too high up because of what happened the last two years.. but I honestly believe that this is a much better football team than any of those teams, and perhaps ever.
The Battle of Shaker Heights

The Battle of Shaker Heights was the winner of the second Project Greenlight. And it’s also a winner with me, I loved it. I remember watching a few episodes of Project Greenlight early on in the second season, and they were having fights about the casting of lead roles. Well, they cast this movie very well, in my opinion. Shia LaBeouf was perfect in it. This kid has a future.
I am not big on long reviews, so my suggestion is to rent it. Especially if you like dry humour. It has a slow beginning however.
I give The Battle of Shaker Heights at 4.95 outta 5.
Stuck On You

I must have been expecting more from this movie, because I walked out thinking it wasn’t too great. There were definately some funny parts, without a doubt. However, having the guys be conjoined twins didn’t make everything they did funny. Which is what I think they were banking on.
Overall, it was good rental. But I wouldn’t recommend seeing it in the theatre. I give it a 2.5 outta 5.
DVD: LXG

DVD: The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
This movie could have been good. And it some ways, it was - but in most ways it was not. I think the main problem with this movie, is that there are too many characters to develop.
What a Week!!
WOW!! What a week this has been and if my calculations serve me correctly, will continue to be. I started weight training again which I am very excited about, can’t wait to get back on the track I started this summer.
The Eagles romped on Miami Monday Night in one of the best games I have seen in recent memory, set aside from the officiating and all the fighting. The Eagles firmly established themselves as “for real” and one of the top, IMO the top team in the NFC and arguably the NFL. Dononvan deservedly is the leading quarterback in the NFC in Pro Bowl votes and is now in the race for league MVP. Is there anyone who deserves it more? Maybe, but it sure is close. Eagles are now #2 in the ESPN Power Rankings, where they started in the beginning of the season, slipped down in the 20’s and have fought their way back to the top.
Then today, is the culmanation of a year’s worth of waiting and anticipation. Today marks a momentous day in cinematic history, the release of the RETURN OF THE KING… Today at 3:20 I will be settled into my theather seat in utter amazement of the beauty and awe-inspiring action that Peter Jackson directed. I haven’t seen the movie yet but I am SO SURE that it will be the BEST MOVIE EVER that I have already made it up in my mind that it is. Today is a great day. A trilogy comes to an end but a movie legend will be born |cheeky|. I know I’m being cheesy but thats just how excited I am.
Then this weekend I will be able to indulge myself with repeat viewings of Return of the King. Last year I saw the Two Towers 5 times in the opening week and I’m sure this film will be no different. This movie is supposed to be the best out of all the movie, which is very hard to believe.
I CAN’T WAIT .. I will be back to tell you my thoughts on the movie later tonight or tomorrow.
Be a giver
The Internet, in my opinion, is by far the greatest platform for sharing knowledge the world has ever known. This fact, I’m sure, has not slipped your attention either.
However, some have taken to taking more than they give. In fact, asking for more than thier willing to return. Example: Forums, Message Boards, Bulletin Boards, Chats, NewsGroups and the like have been around for far longer than the Internet. In fact, they have been around far longer than any of thier digital cousins. Still, some are having trouble using them properly. Most people, when they have a given topic they would like to discuss, post an “opener topic” consisting of something they’ve found interesting, and asked for others viewpoint on that specific topic. Seems logical. Yet, when asking a question, perhaps about technology, the Internet or something they forget thier etiquette.
What am I getting at? Well, when you (not you the reader) post a question onto, let’s say a Forum, you are hoping that someone will answer your question with a reply that solves your issue. Depending on the amount of “traffic” that forum is subject to, you might get a reply that is quick, to the point, and accurate. However, sometimes, your question can go unanswered. What do you do then? RTFM! That’d probably help. But, if your question is sincere and geniune, than you might want to research the answer further. Once you have found your juicy little nugget, that is your solution, what do you do with it then? SHARE IT! Someone, at some other time, will have the same problem that you are facing. It’s almost inevitable. Posting the answer to your question will, potentially, help hundereds of people save thousands of hours. This will, perhaps even help you later on, if you should have the same problem again, and you didn’t document it for yourself. I mean, are we to assume that the millions of unanswered questions out there are just that, unanswered? Did the person just give up? Not likely.
If you search Google Groups (formerly Deja News) they have an archive of millions upon millions of Newsgroup posts that people have been using for years. This archive has helped me on more than one occassion for sure. I also try to personally document any problems I might have, so that I won’t waste time solving 1 issue twice or more. And, if someone else ever comes up with a problem similar, hopefully I can help them.
Do your part, whether you know it or not you are part of a community. If one of your neighbors has a problem with thier house that you had just dealt with, more often than not, you would provide your new found knowledge and expertise on the subject to help them to not make the same mistakes that you had.
