Nieces and Nephews
Consider this. Your brother/sister goes out and gets like 2 or 3 new toys that you’ve always been interested in seeing or playing with to see if you’d ever be interested in getting one. Perhaps you can even borrow one of them for a day or so to see if you could ever get used to using one. However, your totally not responsible for these toys, and at any time, you can give them back. It’s pretty cool - and I’ve got tons of these little things. Of course, I’m talking about my Nieces and Nephews.
A little over a week ago I had the opportunity to spend some time with a few of my Nephews and one of my Nieces. Click the thumbnail for more pictures of that day.
Wi-fi Woes
I love Wi-fi. I hate Wi-fi.
[Edit]
I love functioning Wi-fi. I hate non-functioning Wi-fi.
[Re-edit]
I like Wi-fi when it works, and is fast. I hate Wi-fi when it’s slow, or not working at all.
This is how it’s been lately with my Wi-fi connection on every machine except my iMac. The iMac never has a problem, probably due to the fact that the entire screen is it’s antenna, with connecting to my Wi-Fi network. Anyone know how to discover possible signal conflicts? Or perhaps how to extend the antenna of a typical Wi-fi PCI Ethernet card?
Up, down. Up, slow. Up, slow, down, off, on. Ugh!
Operation: Barebluebones
Notice anything different? Probably not, since the majority of this site’s readers only subscribe to the RSS feeds. But I assure you, something has changed. Operation Barebluebones was something that I wanted to do for a little while. A very simple styled version of TUG.n.
Family Tree (immediate)
My Father once put together a huge poster style family tree, far too ambitious for me. I’ve decided, for absolutely no reason whatsoever, to list our current immediate family tree. Forgive me if I don’t list everyone ages, because I have no idea. The following lists the family tree starting with my Mother and Father, and ordered by age of sibling. Each sibling is listed first followed by their spouse, and then imediately followed by their children in order of oldest to youngest.
- Robert and Jacky
- Derrick and Lisa
- Leyana
- Deyana
- Jennifer and Perry
- Keri
- Katherine and John
- Kalie
- Tyler
- Larkin
- Nettie and Chris
- Ethan
- Peter and Melanie
- Peter Zachary
- Colin and Eliza
- Derrick and Lisa

Picture: One of the worst family photos ever taken. Actually, I know this isn’t our “official shot”, but it was good enough for posting. My wife, Eliza, is hidden behind Chris (my brother-in-law), which I didn’t think was possible since he is one of the smallest men you will ever meet. Some people are looking away, some are blinking, some are standing on their ankles. Either way, our family has grown. If I were to name my cousins, and their children, I’d be nesting lists all day.
Taco bell has rats
This has made my day, literally. It turns out, after extensive DNA research, that some dogs aren’t dogs at all, they are breeds of rodents.
Among other findings, the analysis determined that the Chihuahua is actually a type of large rodent, selectively bred for centuries to resemble a canine.
I love dogs, and hate Chihuahuas - and never knew why. Now I do.
“Oh, heavens, if they make it official that Chihuahuas aren’t dogs, it would make my day,” said Miami condominium owner Frances LaCroix. “I would finally have grounds to make Elsie Tabernathy get rid of her wretched little yapping pack of – rodents, did you say they were? Oh, that would be marvelous.”

Yep, I’m still fat.
It’s been 7 days, and I’m still fat. I suppose I can hold out a little longer.
So far my experience has been slightly more enjoyable than previous efforts. Which will probably cause me to continue and see this thing to the end. I was unable to weigh myself this week since I was not at my sister’s house, where I weighed myself at the beginning. Weighing yourself on two - or more - different scales does almost no good at all.
I’m not really focusing on weight anyway - so I’m kind of glad that I don’t have any idea if I lost any at all. I’m looking forward to weighing myself in the future, so that I will hopefully see a larger than expected change.
Keep cheering for me, this time - I’m gonna make it.
