Taking Back Sunday - Tell All Your FriendsI was in a bit of an emo mood this week. My choice for SOTW was a tough call between two TBS songs. “The Blue Channel” and “Cute without the E (Cut From The Team)”. Both songs are basically the same thing but I feel that The Blue Channel has a bit more bite for my taste.

The song starts off with a cool little piano intro that turns into thumping bass. The song deals with the emotions of someone who has just been cheated on.. starts off with disbelief (’I'm not so sure if I’m sure of anything anymore’) then to sarcastic bitterness (’Your so guilty it’s disgusting / He’s been sneakin underneath your sheets / and your hands / have been in places that they probably shouldn’t go / but don’t worry sweetie / cause I already know’). Then the song gives way to his true feelings about the situation when he admits that he will always still be waiting for her call.

This song features one of the best screams Adam has on all of TAYF and showcases some of his best songwriting talents, altho lyrically I prefer the kick *** song “There’s No ‘I’ in Team”, a song written in reply to Brand New’s “Seventy Times Seven” (another quality song).
