Site: Stop Design
Author: Douglas Bowman - Bio
Location: San Francisco, California USA

If you’ve never heard of Douglas Bowman before, than perhaps it’s time to get your head out of the sand. Mr. Bowman is a leading-edge and well respected designer both in graphical, and information design. To quote him, he “believes design should simplify and facilitate our everyday life.” His site, which is extremely well designed and very easy to use, lends itself to good readability.

What makes this blog readable?

Usability is something that many blogs, including my own, lack. Stop Design has always been, and is even more so now than ever, a very well designed and usable site. Navigation is clear, concise and well described. But I’m no design guru, so let’s talk about content.

Doug has been asked/invited to speak at many events to share his thoughts on the current and future implementations of Graphic Design and Web Standards in the Internet Development industry. Many of these speeches and presentations trickle over into articles on his website. Doug has, no doubt, spent countless hours preparing for these different events and conferences, and this shows in the amount of detail and work in each of his articles. Here is a short list of some of the most memorable pieces that I’ve liked since I began reading Stop Design:

At this point I usually have something negative to say about the blog, it’s design, it’s archive or whatever. I suppose I’ll have to take one of my wishes and turn it into a complaint, sorry Doug. I’d really like to see more Apple related posts, as some of your comments on different things have been interesting to read. Besides that, Stop Design is a readable blog that everyone should subscribe to.
