An Orange Frog

Orange Frog on sidingA few nights ago Eliza and I came home only to be greeted on our way up the stairs by an orange Frog. I’ve seen many variations of the species ‘frog’ during my time on our Planet and I have never seen a frog of this color in the Northeastern US. This does not mean that they do not exist, nor that I think this frog had lost his merry-way - just that I am entirely too geeky and need desperately to get outside more.

Orange Frog Left FootRecently I’ve been thinking about that very fact, of not getting out doors enough, and have concluded that after a specific project finds it’s way off my desk - I plan on enjoying the late-summer / fall. I have a camping trip planned with a few friends, I really need to take a swim, Eliza and I would love to get to a beach in one of the Carolinas, etc.

Orange FrogI look forward to getting outside more often, as a child you couldn’t get me indoors. I used to sit out in the snow, even if I was exhausted with nothing to do, until my snow suit was pretty much a wet-suit. I remember being gone for 12 hour stretches playing basketball, boxing with my friends without boxing gloves, riding bikes in the dark and pretty much killing ourselves, and trying to knock down bee-hives with burning gas covered cloth at the end of a stick. Ah, the days of youth.
