Elsewhere Links reloaded
I’ve been using Markku Seguerra’s, of RebelPixel, recent links WordPress plugin for about 4 months now. Since the ill-fated Project MOAM my use of this plugin has dropped dramatically. I went from over 150 links in June to 17 in August. Partially because the design of the website didn’t make it apparently clear that I had such a list, and I didn’t think it was useful to anyone.
Recently I’ve found myself using this plugin to quickly bookmark websites and articles for my personal use. Although I am planning on recoding this plugin to allow for categories, comments and many other options, I’ve only just customized the plugin slightly and put it back up where it should have been in the first place.
The customization of this mod wasn’t very intense, neither was the recent customization of the Recent Comments plugin. However, I won’t be making the customizations I made to this plugin publicly available, since all I did was change some of the hard-coded URL strings in the functions to allow for my new ModRewrite rules. Markku built this plugin with good fore-thought, by building in just enough optional features to make any plugin tweaker happy. I recommend using this plugin, even if you don’t make the list publicly available.
