Great paintings

I’ve never been able to harness the artist side of my brain. As you can tell from this Web site, and pretty much anything else I’ve done graphically, I’m not an overly artisticly creative person.

That being said, there are people in my family that have artistic talent. One of which is my Father, Robert F. Devroe, and recently he’s been able to find the time to start painting again.

A recent painting by Robert F. DevroeFlamingos doing thier thing.Spanish Dancer

My Father has always hobbied with painting, pen and ink and other various methods. Recently, since he’s moved to the Carolina’s, he’s been focusing more on painting then pen and ink. The first photo above was a job commissioned by someone local, but I’m not sure of the details. From the photo I saw before hand, this is a very nice painting indeed.

I haven’t spoken to my Father about where he gets his inspiration for his work, so I can’t tell you where the flamingos came from. It could possibly have come from the fact that we spent a very good deal of time living in Florida, but I could be wrong.

One of my more favorite pieces of his recent work, the Spanish Dancer is a vibrant portrayal of beautifully elegant figure. I really like the floor in this picture as well.

I’m really not sure if my Father is taking any commissioned jobs at this time, but if you’re interested comment on this post or send me an email and I’ll be glad to forward it off to him.

You can see his work, as my Mother updates, at their Flickr account’s photos tagged with Painting.
