The weekend

Congratulations to the Steelers for a great season on the shoulders of a rookie quarterback. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little upset about the whole thing, but really it is just a game and I am sure that the team members are far more upset than any of us fans. Next year boys.

Also, a big congrats to the Eagles (another Pennsylvania team which I give much allegiance), as they are headed to the Super Bowl. Regardless of the outcome of that game, at least they have silenced their critics and shown that they are a great team that doesn’t choke every year. And, just as noteworthy, they did it witout T. Owens.

On an even sadder note than the Steelers losing is that Johnny Carson, The King of Late-night, passed away this weekend at the age of 79. Johnny has to be one of the funniest guys I’ve ever seen grace the television, and no one on today’s late-night panels can hold a candle to him. Have a good sleep Johnny.

And, using WordPress 1.5 has been quite nice. There are some bugs, there are also some uncompleted portions, but the switch has definitely be worth it. I recieved 247 peices of comment spam this weekend, and using only the default WP 1.5 install, and no plugins, it got rid of about 206 of them. Which is way better than WP 1.2.x did with tons of plugins installed. So, hopefully by the time WP 1.5 is ready to go public, it will do an even better job.
