iPod box dock
I saw a post on boing boing about this guy who printed off some cool prints and made himself an iPod dock for next to nothing. Nice way to save $30.00.
So I decided to finally put that iPod Box slip cover to good use, and make my own iPod box dock. It didn’t turn out quite as nice as the guy who made the one on Boing Boing, but it’ll do. Here are a few photos of the process.
First you start off with the iPod box slip cover, which almost all iPods come with. At least when I bought my wife’s iPod they did.
I decided to use the green side as my main side, or left side. And the orangish side as my back.
Here is what they look like, cut into the desired shape of the dock. Now to tape them together to the spine.
I took the blue side, and used that as my spine. I taped them all together just using normal scotch tape.
I signed the inside of mine. For reasons passing comprehension.
Here is what the left, right and spine look like taped together.
I used the pink side as the bottom. Just thought that I might as well use the pink side too. I would suggest girls using the pink side as their left side.
