Google is using Jabber and it is up and running

Just to confirm the rumors, Google is in fact using Jabber and it is up and running. I’m currently using it with Adium. If Google has extended the base Jabber protocol, that remains to be seen. I suppose we’ll have to wait till tomorrow for that.

Update 2: It definitely supports video. (in Spanish)

Update 3: Gmail.com just IMed me, yes you read that right, and http://talk.google.com/ is up and running.
