Great minds don’t always think alike

Over the last hour I have had the privilege to witness an amazing discussion. It was full of passion, emotion, facts, and wit. This conversation, between two intelligent individuals, was actually quite entertaining.

The conversation started out as any normal conversation would, two people talking about work and life. After a small request for some assistance, the conversation became a bitter battle of wits and facts. Both sides had very valid points and both individuals defended their position with passion.

It was almost like witnessing a car accident, I was watching the whole thing but could do nothing to stop it. Each attempt I made to push the discussion one way or the other was completely ignored. At least until the conversation was nearing its end, a half hour after it started.

Now wouldn’t this be a great story if I told you that the two individuals taking part in the debate were philosophical giants and they were discussing the ramifications of military mobilization in third world countries? I wish that were the case. In reality, it was two friends debating the usage and placement of the comma.
