Macbook mini-DVI port DOA
Most of you now know that I have been using a Macbook for a few days. Well, yesterday my new DELL 2007WFP 20.1″ Widescreen LCD display showed up, via FedEx. I was all set to go, and the display would not turn on for anything.
After being on the phone with both DELL and Apple for a considerable amount of time, and also asking everyone in the Apple discussions to help me out, I have been able to figure out that my mini-DVI port on my Macbook was dead on arrival.
I am not sure if this is something that others will experience, or if I am the only lucky one, but I thought I’d let everyone know the good with the bad.
Tomorrow, I head back to New Jersey to pick up a new one. Anyone up to meet me at the Apple Store and grab a bite or something?
They replaced my Macbook with no trouble (after confirming the DVI was indeed DOA). Now I’m stylin’

Well, at least replacing the macbook is easier than shipping the monitor back.

Zach: I do have to drive an hour and half to get to the Apple store, then an hour and a half back.

They should absolutely fix or replace it for free (yay 1-year warranty — or 3 with AppleCare). If you go to the retail store’s web site before you leave (apple.com/retail) and click on Concierge for that store, you can make a reservation in advance to get it serviced so you don’t have to wait in line when you get there
