That’s more awesome than a thousand ponies on a thousand hills!

I’ve never been so blown away and then so quickly disappointed in all my life. I’ll give you an idea of my emotional rollercoaster…
Me: ZOMGZ! Transformers are amazing!
Me: Yes! I’m pre-ordering tickets now…
Me: Wait.. Michael Bay? (Grabs nearest knife and commits emocide)
End of story. The only way I can see this turning out is with 3 lines of total dialogue, a 20 minute over the top chase scene resulting in the damage of half a city, and the most disappointing feeling in my stomach as the credits roll. It’ll be like watching Mike Tyson breast-feeding a grown silverback gorilla: ridiculously mishandled, horribly unpleasant, and relentlessly long.

Sameer, don’t hold back, tell us how you really feel.
I’ve heard rumors that the shooting script is floating around the internet. Maybe you should give it a read and — without giving us too many details — let us know what you think then.
You’re right, Michael Bay isn’t the best filmmaker out there. You can see most of his movies coming from a few hundred miles away but I have so much hope that because there is such a history and fan following with the Transformers that he’ll have to treat it properly.
In the end only time will truly tell but until then I can dream.

I’m with Sameer on this. I think the teaser is horrid, and I can only hope to be completely wrong when the final film is released.

I’m really hoping I’m wrong, but if the past is anything like the future…
I’m really hoping that with Spielberg producing, he’ll put a leash on Bay and things will turn out better than previous works. I remember hearing a while ago that Spielberg was selling Dreamworks, but I haven’t seen anything more on that. If Spielberg is still deeply involved with all Dreamworks movies, there is a good chance Transformers will be the best Michael Bay film of all time. Hopefully, he will treat it like it should be treated and as you said: for the fans.

Oh, and I forgot one more thing - as long as it’s not Uwe Boll directing, I will still see this movie.
Sameer on July 2nd, 2006 3:24 pm
Actually, if Uwe Boll directed this, I may just want to see it more.
Colin D. Devroe on July 3rd, 2006 8:15 am
Ok, any more talk or mention of Uwe Boll and I’m going to close comments right before I shoot myself. That guy seriously needs a drop kick to the skull.
