Blingo is now SpamGo
I just wanted to get the word out to all of you geeks who use Blingo. They just partnered with PCH (Publishers Clearing House), renamed the site to PCHBlingo and pretty much will spam you to hell.
PCH is known for scamming people. That’s what they do. And Blingo had a good vibe going for them, getting the results from Google and giving away prizes, but now, PCHBlingo?. Seriously?. No thanks.
They made you sign up and give them your info to be able to win any prizes so they have a pretty big database of users. What will PCH do with it now?. Nothing good I’ll tell you that.
I just removed Blingo as my default search engine and will try to delete or cancel my account with them. I suggest you all do the same.
Update: Let’s get the word out. Digg this article.

I don’t see it as that big of a deal. Also, I do not believe that Publisher’s Clearing House themselves put on that scam, that web site is full of crap.
The guy that ran/runs Blingo was pretty protective of Blingo for awhile. He either made the move because he thought it was a good one, or out of necessity.
I don’t see this changing Blingo much, except for the better.

I am curious as to why you say that PCH is known for scamming people. The link you provided is not about a scam run by PCH but rather about PCH. In fact, according to the link you provided the family learned of the scam from an alert on the PCH website. That’s a far stretch to say that PCH is scamming people.
I’m also not sure why Blingo is considered a scam. I’ve won a movie ticket and a $25 gift card from Blingo and have never recieved any spam. How do I know? That’s the only site I have ever put my primary email address on. I’ve been with Blingo since the beta test and have never recieved any spam to that address.
I don’t expect Blingo to change much, but I guess we’ll all just have to wait and see.

A. Bradley: I think Josue was seriously talking out of his ass on this one.

Guys, here are a few links which should shed some light on PCH. They are known for not delivering the prizes. They do sometimes, but from what I’ve read they usually don’t deliver. Oh and yes, the link i posted is not backing my statements, just a bad link due to my poor Google search.
Again, this is all speculation and it’s not a fact. Blingo doing business with PCH simply can’t be a good sign and all I’m doing with this post is trying to get people to notice that it may not be as good as before (blingo that is).
Oh and just for the record, I already received one email from PCH to the address on my Blingo account. Read whatever you want from this.

Once again, you are giving links to scams that claim to be PCH…not scams run by PCH. By your reasoning, every phish scam is the fault of paypal, bank of america, or whoever else the scammer claims to be.
From the looks of things, not much has changed at blingo. I guess time will tell.

A. Bradley, ok. The point I’m trying to make is we should be careful. I just nocited i was using the word spam when i kinda meant scam. Still, I just can’t trust PCH. But as you said, time will tell.

I just won from Blingo while PCH was the owner of Blingo and have received my tickets. So I believe it is still fine.

That really is too bad… I didn’t even realize this as I use it often… But, I haven’t been bombarded with any spam, so I’ll stick with it for a little while more..

Hi guys, I’m late to the conversation but nowhere on Blingo’s website do I see a requirement to sign up to win any prizes. Did this policy change recently?

Just a quick note for Josue Salazar. It is your choice not to believe in PCH or anything else in life. I do receive mail from PCH for entries in their give aways, and also mail from Blingo that basically reminds me of using Blingo. But I have to say If I decided to take the time to do so, I could reset my options and never hear from Blingo again. And then just to say about PCH; They are in business to to earn money from the sales of magazine subscriptions, as well as other offers made available from their sponsors and affiliates. You, by no means, have to participate in any sponsor promotions, or even magazine subscriptions, to participate in their sweepstakes. I have been involved with PCH for 10 months, and only one time received mail form anybody other than PCH, and that was only due to my requesting further information from one of their sponsors. Once I received the info, I opted out of additional future mailings, and have not received any spam as a result.
But I am glad there are people like you out there that chose to distrust PCH, and even try and warn people of the perceived problems and scams that PCH represents to you. By doing so, I am sure you have scared some would be PCH sweepstake participants away,as well as blingo search users, and have increased my chances of being blessed with a win. So I thank you, and wish you well.
Take care, Keven

I hardly ever get any spam from this and I’ve won $215 bucks in the last six months, so I’m happy!
