Learn Quicksilver with video tutorials!

I’m a big fan of Quicksilver, the application for your Mac that is almost impossible to describe, you can simply do a lot of things with it and use it to replace some of your workflows and be more productive. So yes, I love the thing. The problem is that it’s kind of hard to learn how to use it effectively, a friend installed it the other day and then he asked me “so now what do I use it for, and how?”, and I’m sure many others have asked the same thing. What I did was point my friend to Nick Santilli’s video tutorials about it on The Apple Blog, and that’s also what I’m going to do now.

Nick is a Quicksilver guru, he knows how to do everything with it!, and he’s nice enough to actually make videos so we can learn. This is how the videos look:

Nick showing how he uses Quicksilver

The latest tutorial.

The videos are usually short and to the point, here is the list of all the tutorials so far, simply click on the links and then follow his instructions:

  1. How to install and setup Quicksilver.
  2. How to email a file from Quicksilver.
  3. How to access your Clipboard and manipulate it with Quicksilver.
  4. How to use scripts with Quicksilver.
  5. How to use Quicksilver’s catalog and control more things on your Mac.
  6. How to load items into Quicksilver for further manipulation.
  7. How to create iTunes playlists from Quicksilver.
  8. How to setup triggers (keyboard shortcuts) and mouse gestures in Quicksilver.
  9. How to navigate through folders and lists in Quicksilver.
  10. How to send a quick email only using Quicksilver.
  11. How to resize and manipulate images in Quicksilver.
  12. How to load selected files in the Finder into Quicksilver.

I’ve watched all the video tutorials and I have to say I enjoy the way he does them, he always goes slow enough I can follow what he’s doing on my computer. The tutorials always cover something new and interesting too!. Nice job Nick! and enjoy the tutorials people!.
