Help support TUG

This site has been more a labor of love than anything for quite awhile. And while we have made adjustments over the last year to put ads on our site, and they have made a small amount of revenue for us, we’re looking to take it to the next level.

Which level is that? Not the “quit the full time job and write for TUG” level, I can assure you. But we would like to make some small adjustments to our site, its content, our roster, and several other things to help make TUG slightly better.

With your help, we can do this. If you have a web site, service, product, or just favorite photo that you’d like us to link to - you can now do this automatically. Simply purchase a text link ad, only 10 available per month, and every single page of our site will link to your page. Simple enough right?

Give it a spin. Or two. We’ll give more details and an update in the near future, but for now - lets see the wallets.

Recommend SOTW

Chris, our resident music geek, is sick this week (he had some minor surgery which I will let him fill you in on) - so we need your help. We need a Song of the Week.

So, give us your suggestions in the comments. Please and thank you.

A new personal site for Colin D. Devroe

I’m referring to myself in the third-person, though I’m not sure why. Anyways, thanks to Josue I a new domain name. cdevroe.com is where I will be doing my thang from now on. Those that were subscribed to my old site should update their bookmarks and feed subscriptions.

Obviously, the site is far from done. But my main goal was to get something done really quickly, that contained 99% of the posts that were on my old site.

I’ll be doing small updates now and then from now until infinity. So stay tuned, and stay subscribed.

Introducing Josue Salazar

Josue Salazar and his iMac G5

The TUG.n team would like to welcome, and introduce, our newest member Josue Salazar.

Josue comes to TUG.n bringing his knowledge of all that is geek, as well as the ability to bring us some of the news from the Windows world. Yes, yes he owns and uses a Macintosh as his primary computer (we may not have asked him to join otherwise), but he has access to a Windows computer (unlike Mike, Chris, and I).

Other than writing about Windows, he’ll be dabbling in the every-day topics you’ve come to know and love on TUG.n. He’ll also be joining us, from his home in Costa Rica, on TUG Radio.

While we’d like you to subscribe to TUG.n for everything Josue, we also suggest you check out Josue’s website Made in Costa Rica as well as check out his photos on Flickr.

Welcome to the team Josue.

TUG + Safari = Error?

My primary browser is Safari. So I’m at a loss when I see this. Please email me, if this is happening to you.

We’re thinking its narrowed down to be an isolated person, but I’d like to know for sure.

Update: Turns out its due to a Safari plugin. I’ve never kept any Safari plugins installed for this very reason. I’ve had at least a half-dozen sites that I frequent end up crazying my browser because the plugin didn’t seem to like it. I was never able to figure it out though.
